15 Yard

The 15 yard is your little job go-to, especially if you’re cleaning out a garage or shed and just have a few things to get rid of. With its lower 4-foot rim, you can toss material over its side with ease, but you’ll still have enough space for larger remodels, like renovating a kitchen or master bath. It clocks in at 12-feet long and 8-feet wide.

20 YARD

An old standby, the 20-yard container is a good compromise in capacity and size which can handle most residential or smaller commercial jobs easily with it’s 14-foot length. This will also be the first choice for shingles, tile, and other heavy materials. A larger remodel or interior tearout is also manageable with the 20-yard and its 6-foot high sides and 8-foot width.

30 YARD

If you’ve passed by a roll-off container on the street and thought how handy it’d be to rent one of those, it’s probably been a 30-yard. It is a mainstay for building cleanups, commercial remodels or large scale residential renovations, able to easily handle a hefty amount of debris with its 21-foot length, 6-foot high sides and 8-feet width. If in doubt, bring on out the 30-yard and get it done in one-go!

40

While too big and bulky for most residential projects, the 40-yard can be suited for large demolitions and tear outs. It’s large size can handle an impressive amount of construction debris. It’s footprint on a jobsite is substantial, however, coming in at 21-foot long, 8-foot high and 8-foot wide. This is also the most elusive of the Gnarly containers—give us a call to check for availability.

Dumpster Tips + How-Tos

Why Should You Get Gnarly?

Nothing much to a dumpster right? Well, mostly. It’s a large steel container, ready for your debris, but their uses are just about endless. Maybe you have a garage that needs a thorough cleaning—simple enough. But if you’re also needing a dumpster for something more complicated, like property cleanups, large-scale commercial jobs, or disposal at events, we can help you out there as well! Gnarly is equipped and ready to discuss all things disposal related with our customers. We don’t shrink back from getting down in the muck and getting the job done. House remodel? No problem. Commercial tear-out? Easy. An off-the-wall cleanout job? Well, check with us! We’re happy to answer all questions and concerns and help you on your way to completing your next project.

How Do I Avoid Dumpster Flame Fiascos?

It’s not just a joke! Dumpster fires are real—and it’s up to you to prevent them. No one wants a paint-peeling, metal-scorching, dumpster fire. In addition to the damage to the container itself, it’s a hazard to those around it. A fabricated steel, four-sided container is not a suitable place for a fire. The most obvious solution to preventing dumpster fires is to not load the dumpster with any accelerants, which as chemicals are already restricted inside the container. Also, beware of highly flammable material being pushed close together. And don’t forget when loading the dumpster to leave buffer zones of more flame resistant material. Don’t let a dumpster fire ruin your (and our) day!

Measuring Out a Jobsite

Dumpster delivery trucks are of similar size to your standard trash pickup vehicles, just outfitted with a dumpster on its back. Due to their size, they need able clearance to deliver to site. To enter a property or jobsite, fifteen to twenty feet of width is needed to make a sharp turn and around twelve feet is needed for a straight shot. Once in place, the truck will also need to pull the dumpster forward and up so it can roll the container back onto the drop location. This will require at least fifteen feet clearance above where the truck will offload, so please make note of any dangling power lines and inform us when scheduling so drivers can be on the lookout!

Residential Reno’s

If you look hard enough, there is always something to throw away in the house! Gnarly is onboard and ready to help you start your next residential project. Is the yard looking a bit overgrown? Get a Gnarly dumpster out there and go to town on those sprawling bushes. Tree limbs, leaves, fallen branches, shrubbery, and all manner of vegetation is permissible in a roll-off container. Just watch out for dirt and soil! Both are too heavy and too compact to be loaded into a dumpster and so are not suitable for a Gnarly container. Same goes for stumps, but because of their impenetrable composition which makes them unacceptable at the landfill.

Garage cleanouts are also suitable projects to go and rent a Gnarly roll-off container for. Whether it’s grandpa’s old knick knacks or years of accumulated family clutter, a dumpster will provide an easy and quick solution for your disposal needs. Boxes of trash, old fishing pole collections from bygone eras of previous hobbies, and every rusted tool you can find are all suitable to be tossed into a roll-off container, along with pretty much everything else you can find in a garage or home cleanout.

Commercial Projects

Nothing slows down a jobsite more than unreliable dumpster service. Don’t let your big commercial job be the victim of spotty disposal services. Gnarly is with you from the planning stages to the last load of debris. Whether you have a large tearout job complete with sheetrock, studs, and floors, or a roofing project with squares upon squares of shingles, a Gnarly dumpster can handle it. We will help you strategize the number of dumpsters you need onsite and the number of switch outs to keep your job moving and your workers working! From small commercial remodels to large demolition projects, Gnarly is ready to provide your disposal service—no matter the size of your job. No construction material is off-limits for a Gnarly dumpster. If you have debris building up on your jobsite, give us a call and we’ll get you rolling in no time!

Gnarly Tips

There are a few things to remember when renting a roll-off container. We at Gnarly Dumpster Rental are vested in making sure you get your rental delivered with no issues. Ahead of your dumpster arriving, make sure any gates are unlocked, open and accessible for the truck to make it through. Any cars blocking the road or driveway should also be moved so they aren’t stuck behind a dumpster until its removal. Make sure any pets are safe and secured before delivery as well. When loading the dumpster, make sure to never load past the fill-line marked inside the container or the rim itself. And never load heavy items like bricks or shingles more than halfway full inside the dumpster or it’ll be too heavy for pickup. Also, make sure dense or compact materials don’t congregate toward the front of the container—this makes it exponentially more difficult to load the container back onto the truck for removal. When do you need for us to come and pick up the dumpster, remember to give us a call!

Opening a Container of Gnarly

Once your rental container has been dropped off, there is only one thing to do next—open it! Luckily, it’s an easy task. Just pull back the metal latch on the back of the dumpster and its door will swing right open and your container will be ready to load up.

How to Rent a Gnarly Dumpster

It’s not hard to get a Gnarly dumpster on its way to your home or jobsite. We keep the process simple and clear—same way we do our pricing. Let us in a little about what your project is about and what material you’re disposing and we’ll walk you through the process of procuring your own Gnarly roll-off container. Just have the address, contact for placement, and your customer information ready when you call to order. Once scheduled, we will bring out the container to your site. And when your Gnarly is loaded and ready, give us a final call to schedule your dumpster removal.

Preparing a Place for a Gnarly Dumpster

Gnarly dumpsters weigh in at 2 to 3 tons on their own, even empty—they are made from fabricated steel after all. Securing solid placement for your rental roll-off is essential. A helpful way to mark a location is with a cone or stake to show exactly where you’d like us to drop the container. Our dumpsters are roll-offs, so they need both height clearance as well as width, so that nothing is snagged when the truck rolls the dumpster upwards and down off its back. When deciding on placement, aim for gravel, asphalt, concrete, or packed dirt. If you have concerns about cracking or damaging a driveway, consider placing plywood planks where the dumpster will be eventually set, so there is an extra layer of protection between the driveway and the dumpster.
